We recently hosted our Annual General Meeting, a key event for our trustees, supporters and the community. A special moment of the event featured Winnie, who celebrated her 100th birthday this year. As one of the charity’s longest-standing participants, Winnie shared her experience of being part of Link Age Southwark since its early days.

The Mayor of Southwark Naima Ali also gave a speech sharing her support for the charity and commitment to celebrating our older community. We awarded 5 of our wonderful volunteers the Star Vounteer Award! Congratulations to Lily Mugford, Ian Buchan, Aro Nylander, Carol Moody and our Superstar Volunteer Bill Guest! We also had a wonderful speech from volunteer Gulzira, who shared her experience of befriending as; 'a beautiful way to feel the love of a grandmother.'

The night also highlighted the release of the 2024 Impact Report, detailing the charity's achievements, outreach, and ongoing initiatives that positively affect older people and those living with dementia. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in discussions about the future direction of the organisation.

This year’s AGM was not only a celebration of past successes but also a reaffirmation of Link Age Southwark’s commitment to enriching lives and fostering community connections to our older friends across the borough.
