Summer Seaside Party For our recent Summer Party we brought the beach to our friends at Southwark-on-Sea! We served up a nostalgic trip to the seaside, with fish and chips, ice cream, donkey bingo, buckets and spades. A classic seaside affair was transformed by the sounds of the Caribbean with steel pan player Addis from The Steel Pan Trust. This talented young musician brought lots of joy and our older friends couldn’t help but tap their feet and there was dancing in the aisles! Our dancers Moving Into Age whipped up a storm to a medley of hits joined in by the chorus of the party guests. The event was a great success with the generous help of volunteers from King's College London who ensured the smooth running of the party, and we couldn’t have done it without them! A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, staff and supporters who certainly brought the sun to Southwark-on-Sea. The party has prompted some amazing feedback from our services users: “It was a really good afternoon and it is clear to see Link Age Southwark go above and beyond and truly care about what they do. The fish and chips were delicious, it really felt like I was at the seaside!” "I heard the steel band down Queens Road and thought it was a whole band and then realised it was a young boy, he was brilliant! I had a lovely time!" "Can we have the steel band again, loved it!" “Lovely atmosphere, I loved it, everyone mixing and mingling. It was beautiful!" Manage Cookie Preferences
